Wednesday was an awesome day for the Thunder and a real BounceBack performance. Last post I discussed 2 keys to the game which were 1: Get the offense going early and 2: Get a rebound. Both of which were beyond executed to perfection and really this game stop being a game after about 7 minutes into the first Quarter.
They did what they needed to do this quote from Shai really puts it into perspective how they treated this game “We knew what was at stake tonight We came out desperate. We wanted to just take care and control the things that we knew we could. And we did a pretty good job of that, specifically to start the game. The start carried us through the rest of the night.”
Shai probably had his best game of the Post season with 34 pts, 8 asts, and 4 rbs. with a +51 +/-.just insane. This middy bucket really just showed how Shai was feeling to:
Jokic arguably had his worst game of the season with 17 pt, 6 asts and 8 rebs. along with 6 turnovers and a career worst -36 +/- with this foul ending his night in a frustrating way:
It really didn’t matter being down 41 at that point anyway. But you could sense that thunder team that had played this way all season long just frustrating opponents at every turn in every game. Aaron Gordon swears all we do is foul which is partially true being the team that fouls the most during the regular season. even with that the nuggets allowed a playoff high 87 points in any half in NBA history. I really don’t thing a couple more fouls here and there would’ve done anything
With all that being said Nuggets still have home court now and the thunder need to get one back in Denver I really feel like this team is just starting to settle into the playoff Fouls, atmosphere, and adversity.
With that short review of a not so competitive game its time for Game 3: Three Keys
Key 1: Early Energy
Keep the energy and intensity up Denver will be locked in Stealing one on the road and being back at home tied with a chance to go up. similar to Game 3 of last series if the thunder isn’t ready, I Think Denver takes it.
Key 2: Bench mob
Bench needs to establish themselves Caruso and Cason have consistently been relentless when they get in the game, and I think that has translated into the offense Joe and Wiggs have provided flashes all post season but there hasn’t really been a game where we can say without them, we lose.
Key 3: Red bull
Honestly not even a Game key but the Thunder fans need a break we have yet you have a 7 ‘O’clock game yet. Not saying I’m not going to watch but good lord when we went to the game Monday, we didn’t get home till 12:15 and my friend who went on Wednesday didn’t get back home till after 1 A.M. it’s kind of insane how late the games have been running this round, and I know it’s because market on the west coast is a priority but Some of us got to work Lol.
Overall I think the thunder pull this one out in Denver 105- 102. Player of the game is??????? Jalen Williams
Appreciate the support so far I’m working on getting the site looking better and working in my free time! id like to eventually do a podcast and get this thing really going I’ve been enjoying this a lot so far! Peace and ThunderUP!!!!!!!
